The Legacy of Bridgette Arlene Francis-Ingraham
Bridgette Francis-Ingraham (July 11, 1974 - April 9, 2024)
The late Bridgette Arlene Francis-Ingraham established the Bridgette Francis International College Planning Consulting Firm in Fall 2011 in Nassau, Bahamas. With a focus on helping students navigate the international college planning process, Bridgette advised and assisted over 1,000 students, offering vital college development services and information about college scholarships in the Bahamas. The firm quickly grew to become the largest independent provider of scholarship-matching services and college planning in The Bahamas, helping many Bahamian students explore academics internationally.
Bridgette became an agent for numerous schools, colleges, and universities in Canada, the USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia. She dedicated most of her time speaking with parents, students, guidance counselors, and representatives from institutions to achieve cohesive matches and help find scholarships for Bahamian students. She provided valuable information.
Achievements
Bridgette was the first International and first black person to receive the Distinguished Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Service Award. She was recognized as One of the Leaders of The World for the field of the Internationalization of Higher Education in New Jersey at Montclair State University in October 2018. In March 2019, Bridgette was honored as one of the 25 Most Influential Bahamian Women in Business by Professional Services Bahamas. Bridgette's commitment to education also included her advocacy for college scholarships in the Bahamas, helping to pave the way for scholarships for Bahamian students. In 2023, she was named the Woman of The Year by the Ms. International World Organization. On July 10, 2024, which is The Bahamas' Independence Day, it was announced that Bridgette had been conferred posthumously with the Order of Merit - Officer award under the National Honours Act to Citizens of The Bahamas for her significant contributions to education. Her legacy, including her efforts in promoting scholarships for Bahamian students will undoubtedly live on.

My name is Brittany Moss-Rolle. I am a proud alumna of Midwestern State University. I began my college journey in August 2016, and I was fortunate to receive college scholarships in The Bahamas, thanks to Mrs. Bridgette Francis-Ingraham. She assisted me every step of the way to accomplish my educational goals for my future career path. I studied Special Education and graduated in 2020 with honors.
After graduation, I did substitute teaching while I waited for my dream teaching job. After receiving my work visa, I was able to launch my first Special Education classroom of my own. I relocated to The Bahamas in 2021 and worked one-on-one with students at risk of failing. Eventually, in 2022, I established my own Special Education School, the New Providence Development Center, which caters to students with disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia, and more. Mrs. Francis-Ingraham attended the launch of NPDC and brought an MSU representative with her, showcasing how much MSU impacted my career path. The New Providence Development Center is located on Carmichael Road, opposite the BFM Diplomat Center.
I am incredibly grateful for the support I received from Mrs. Bridgette Francis-Ingraham, who ensured that I secured scholarships for Bahamian students. Not only did she facilitate my scholarship, but she also checked in frequently, providing support and encouraging words when necessary. I made a promise to her that I would come out on top, especially as the first from The Bahamas to study Special Education through her firm. I certainly made her proud, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to express my gratitude to her on many occasions while she was here with us.
